EuroRunner Interfaces - Introduction

Purpose

The purpose of this document is to provide operations users and system administrators information as to how EuroRunner interfaces with other gas systems. These interfaces are typically used to send nominations and receive confirmations from network operators and other counterparties.

Standards

Each interface is split into the following two sections (where required):

  • Set-Up
Options that operations users will need to configure in the EuroRunner user interface.
  • Technical
Technical information to help system administrators set-up the EuroRunner server and troubleshoot any problems.

Introduction

Set-Up

Settings can be entered using the EuroRunner application; the changes made will affect the operation of EuroRunner. In certain cases the settings described are firm, and if set to anything else the functionality may not work, in other cases the settings are suggested, and will not cause problems if you prefer an different option, these latter are shown in italics.

EuroRunner has its own security settings; if you cannot access or change the options then you do not have the correct permissions.

Technical

EuroRunner is a Client/Server Application with an executable running on the users PC connecting to business layer dynamic link libraries (DLLs) running as COM+ Applications on a server, these in turn correct to an Oracle database which may be situated on another server.

Interfaces are sent and received by the COM+ Applications on the server, these can be synchronous, or asynchronous using MSMQ.
