EuroRunner Interfaces - File Services

Introduction

The File Service is a process which initiates asynchronous notice processing of messages that have been put into the EuroRunner inbox. Essentially it is a process which polls the inbox at regular periods looking for incoming messages which are then input into EuroRunner automatically.

Set-Up

The user will be notified if a message has arrived, but failed by the inbox traffic lights. Clicking the Failed traffic light will display the failed notices screen where the user can retry the failed message to see what the problem is.

Inbox Failed

The user will also be notified if there is an unread message waiting for today or a number of days in the future (see the File Services section of the Registry documentation). Clicking the Unread traffic light will display the find notices screen where the user can deal with the message accordingly.

Inbox Unread

Configuration

You can enable and disable File Services using the Services tab of the System Options screen:

System Options

Note: This option is available for administrators only.

When enabled, five sub-folders are created, these are EuroRunner’s file manager folders, they consist of inbox, process, success, failure and deleted.

Technical

The File Service GMSLFileUtils.FileUtility component is initiated by the GMSL Service; it checks the inbox at regular intervals looking for new files.

Once a new file is located, it is moved into the process folder, and the file service calls the Notice Manager asynchronously.

Notice Manager is responsible for informing File Services if the file was processed successfully, ignored, or failed. File Services then moves the file into the success, deleted or failure folder respectively.

Configuration

The File Service is automatically set-up (with default values) as part of the server installation.

The file service relies on a registry key which dictates where the EuroRunner inbox will be located (see the File Services section of the Registry documentation).

If the location of the folder is changed then the SourceDirs registry value needs to be changed to the new location. Once this key is changed the file service will automatically check if the sub-folders exist in the specified location and if they do not exist it will create all of them.

Troubleshooting

File is in inbox, but is not being processed

File is stuck in Pending status (stuck in process folder)

Since processing incoming ENOM notices is the primary use of File Services; you may wish to also check the ENOM section for troubleshooting issues.

Registry Keys
