GMSL has achieved low staff turnover rates in a generally high turnover sector by providing interesting, challenging and rewarding work to staff. GMSL frequently recruits Operations Controllers. Recently qualified graduates, ideally with European language skills, are preferred. Once trained, Operations Controllers are expected to follow a six week shift rota, which includes a number of night-shifts. Full training is offered in the UK and European gas markets, and the opportunity to develop and utilise language skills is available.
GMSL's software department has developed various packages that are fast becoming the gas industry standard. More software is currently being constructed, and present products are always being adapted to meet the demands of a constantly changing market.
