GMSL's software will support the new GTS balancing model
GMSL's ENOM, ENOM+ and EuroRunner software will continue to operate under the new GTS model and new releases will be available to allow users to follow the certification procedure with GTS.
GTS certification will take place during June and July 2010 and is aimed at ensuring the protocol and syntax of messages exchanged between GTS and the shipper is correct. There is no requirement to test the actual business content of the messages at this stage. This means that only ENOM and ENOM+ will need to be used to acheive certification. EuroRunner, which uses ENOM for its messaging capability, will not need to be tested for certification, however, shippers that licence EuroRunner will still need to carry out certification using ENOM. Likewise, the matching and balancing functions of ENOM+ will also not need to be tested during the certification process.
ENOM will be enhanced to support all of the messages required for certification (including display of the POS and SBS):
- Programme (PRODOC)
- Programme confirmation (PROCON)
- Operational POS (web service)
- Analysis POS (web service)
- Operational SBS (web service)
- Analysis SBS (web service)
- Bid price ladder offer (BIDDOC)
- Bid price ladder activation (BIDACT)
- Bid activation acknowledgment (ACKNOW)
- Bid price ladder confirmation (CLRCON)
- Emergency measure confirmation to supplier (CLRCON)
- Emergency measure confirmation to causers (CLRCON)
GMSL plans to release a version of ENOM supporting all the above messages on or before 28 May 2010. We have agreed with GTS to run through the certification process to test ENOM by the end of May 2010 to ensure that it is compliant. We are confident that we can deliver the required changes by 28 May, however, in order to allow contingency for unforeseen circumstances, we would recommend booking time slots for testing from 1st July onwards. GTS are aware that we are making this recommendation.
What is the Certification process?
Our understanding of the certification process at this stage is that it will not be a particularly onerous or time consuming one. The 2 week time slots for certification are intended to allow time for the shipper to solve any problems that arise during testing, the carrying out of the tests themselves should be a matter of hours at the most.
GTS plan to announce the test scenarios for certification on 1st May. GTS has agreed to run through the certification process in May with GMSL in order to test ENOM. On the basis of this we will provide you with instructions on what you will need to do in ENOM in order to carry out certification. Included in the ENOM release will be all the information you require to interface to ENOM with your own business systems. This will include XSDs and XML samples. Note that you will not need to interface to ENOM in order to pass certification.
What do you need to do to complete certification?
GMSL Operations Clients
Shippers who licence ENOM through our operations service will not have to carry out the tests. GMSL will do so on their behalf, although the shippers will still have to book the time slots themselves. We will contact you separately to arrange this.
ENOM / ENOM+ Clients who are not Operations Clients
Shippers who licence ENOM outside of our operations service will have to carry out the tests themselves. This includes shippers who use our routing service. We would recommend that you run the tests on a separate test environment rather than running them on your production environment.
Shippers who are not GMSL clients
If you are not a current GMSL client or user of ENOM / ENOM+ but would like some advice regarding the new balancing rules and/or the certification process then please let us know and we may be able to help.
What happens After july?
The next significant test period after July 2010 will be the joint testing period in October. We will announce details regarding the joint testing in the coming months once we have agreed the process with GTS.
