Expanding horizons
With the start of operations in the Bacton-Zeebrugge Interconnector in 1998, GMSL began to expand its scope outside the UK. This move also lead to the development of an EDIG@S product for the new nominations standard. As deregulation has spread through Europe so have the operations services that we perform.
A change of ownership
In November 2002 Fluxys, the operator of the principal Belgian transportation network, took ownership of GMSL. GMSL continues to be managed as an independent business unit from its offices in Cambridge, UK. The tie up with Fluxys lead to the combination of the Huberator EDIG@s product with that of GMSL's to form what is ENOM today.
New Services
In October 2004 GMSL took on the function of the Claims Validation Agent (CVA), validating flows into the National Grid network at the main beach terminals on behalf of the UK industry.
GMSL Today
GMSL continues to focus exclusively on gas operations and now works for around 30 operations clients and 50 software clients. Its annual turnover is in excess of £3m and it employees more than 35 people in offices in Cambridge and Birmingham.
